ZapPowee Story

Laid Off at 8:00AM; First Client at 1:30PM

ZapPowee, like many great entrepreneurial companies was born out of necessity and a bit of desparation.

I reported to my corporate job as a Sales and Marketing executive one September morning, the same way I had thousands of times before. But this time it was different.

The company had filed Chapter 11. Turn around “experts” were brought in, and 17,000 employees, including myself, were given their walking papers. “Laid off” they called it, as if they were ever going to call any of us back to work.

I’m not alone. Many of you have probably experienced the pit in your stomach from losing a job. Having to tell your spouse. Worrying about money, family, and finding a new position.

But I had an “Ace Up My Sleeve”.

Marketing automation and the use of technology is what made me always stand out from my competition. My customers complimented my follow up skills, my communication, and the knack I had for always “touching base” with them at exactly the right time.

Throughout my career I diligently maintained and used my contact database and follow up campaigns to keep in touch with my customers and prospects.

That September day I used it again.

This time I sent out a simple message, “Who needs help? I’m Available”?

The phone rang, messages came into my inbox, and ZapPowee was born.

Can marketing automation help you find new business, too?

Why not? It’s worked for me time and again. Marketing automation even helped me sell my house (read the Wall Street Journal article about Steve and Sherri Rosenbaum of ZapPowee).
